ABOUT US

W H O   W E   A R E

We are an Anglican church just south of Dartford, Kent: a community of people of all ages learning to centre our lives on God. We gather weekly on Sunday mornings to celebrate the Eucharist, as well as at other times to offer worship, extend friendships, and share life together. We're not perfect. But we are discovering how the Christian story makes sense of our lives and is changing us.

The church community is a motley crew of ages, backgrounds and circumstances, which is just how it should be. We are teachers, bankers, poets, bus drivers, fire-fighters, widows, toddlers and so many things in between.

Whatever your story - whether you are have been a Christian for many years, or are just exploring faith - you are so welcome to join us.

OUR HISTORY

The church operates from three church buildings, the parish churches of St John's Sutton-at-Hone, St Margaret's Darenth and St Mary's Horton Kirby.

For centuries these were distinct parishes who supported each other informally. Gradually the congregations consolidated into one church community with one vicar and by 2016 there was a single worshipping community, making use of all three church buildings. This united church life is known as the Darent Valley Benefice.
