Baptism/Christening is the way that we join the Church and make our commitment to belong to it. The words "baptism" and "christening" describe the same service: it doesn't matter which word you use.

You can join the Church at any age. If the candidate is a child, there are godparents involved who make promises on the child's behalf to pray for them and to ensure the child is brought up within the church community.

If you would like to find out more about you or your child being christened, come along to a Sunday service and speak to the vicar afterwards. If Sunday mornings are difficult for you because of work or other commitments, email the vicar directly.

Here is a page about preparing for your child's christening, and things that you can do with them to explore faith together.

Christenings/baptisms take place on a Sunday. We celebrate a lot of christenings/baptisms across our three church buildings, so it's not always possible to offer certain dates. If you have specific dates in mind, please get in touch as early as possible.
